NHS and Private Treatment The
Hajat Orthodontic Practice offers a wide range of treatments
for both NHS and private patients. At our practice, NHS treatment
is free for children and young adults up to age 18 years -
if we consider treatment is necessary. Our practice does not
offer free or subsidised NHS orthodontic treatment for patients
over the age of 18 years, or patients of any age group who
present with minor dental irregularities. If appropriate,
such patients would be offered treatment under a private contract.
What is the difference between NHS
and Private Treatment ?
We value our NHS patients as much as
we value our private patients! There is no difference in the
standard of treatment received, nor in the quality of the
final result between these two groups of patients. If you
are accepted as an NHS patient at our practice, you treatment
is totally FREE, but you do not have access to appointments
outside of designated hours (except in special circumstances)
and metal brackets, not clear ceramic brackets are used for
fixed braces. Also, the NHS no longer funds orthodontic treatment
for minor crowding or other mild irregularities.
The main benefits of treatment under
a private contract are:
- The choice of having clear, ceramic brackets for optimal
aesthetics
- There is a greater choice of appointment times, including
Saturdays and appointments outside of school hours
- Longer, more relaxed appointments
- The option of having minor crowding or mild irregularities
corrected where appropriate
