Problems with your Retainer

Orthodontic retainers are fitted after orthodontic treatment is completed. The wearing of retainers is vital if you do not want your teeth to relapse.
There are two types of retainers: Removable and fixed

When your retainer is first fitted, it is normal for it to feel tight. Within a few days, you will get used to it. Also, it is quite normal for you to experience dribbling or excessive salivation, difficulty with speaking, difficulty with eating and soreness of your teeth and gums. These problems will usually go within a week if you wear your new retainer as instructed.
